Sylvia Lee Wyatt, 91, of Shelby went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Hospice Wendover.
She was born in Spartanburg County, S.C., and was retired from Cleveland County School System as a cafeteria employee at Boiling Springs Elementary. She also loved quilting and was a wonderful cook who always enjoyed cooking for her family. Mrs. Wyatt was also a longtime member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the Hospice staff for their excellent care and especially to caregivers Brandy Addis, Elesha Johnson and Kaye Page.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Arthur Spake and Myra Goodwin Spake; her husband, Melvin Wilford Wyatt; her brother, Donald Spake; and sisters, Geneva Goforth, Francis Gee, Wilma Allison, and Hazel Frashier.
She is survived by her sons, Oren Wyatt and Vickie, and Steve Wyatt; daughters, Jeanette Harrill and Dean, all of Shelby, Debbie Dyer and Walt, and Ann Buckley and Don of Concord; grandchildren, Rob and Cindy Wyatt, Richie and Jenny Wyatt, Deana Harrill, Brandon and Stefanie Harrill, Kent Harrill, Jason and Staci Dyer, Jonathan Dyer, and Emily Dyer; great-grandchildren, Meredith Wyatt, Maddie Wyatt, Jada Harrill, and Payton Harrill; and a number of nieces and nephews.
