Mr. Hambright, 78, of 101 Embert Lane, Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his home. Mr. Hambright was born in Clover, SC, was a welder and served in the U. S. Navy where he served on the USS McKinnley. Mr. Hambright was preceded in death by his parents D. N. Hambright Sr., and Della Boheler Hambright, his wife Alma Jean Thomas Hambright, a brother D. N. Hambright Jr., sisters Mary Maude Stapleton and Jo Hambright Robinson. Mr. Hambright is survived by one son Doug Hambright of Mt. Holly, NC, one daughter and her husband Debbie Hambright Keever and Jamie of Kings Mountain, NC, sisters; Ruth Wood and husband Bill, Sid Whiteside and husband Marshall both of York, SC., Teresa Bland and husband Tommy of Gastonia, a sister-in-law Cheryl Gallman & husband Steven of Shelby, and Pat Thomas of Shelby, a brother-in-law Cleatus Huntsinger and wife Ina of Shelby, and grandchildren; Dana Britt & Matt Woods, Levi Keever, Jesse Keever, and a great granddaughter Willow Jade Woods, and a number of nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Tom's sisters for allowing him to be able to stay at home, to the CNA's who cared for hom in the last 7 months of his life, and to Hospice of Cleveland County for providing such compassionate care to Tom & his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150. Graveside services will be conducted by Dr. Tim Simms, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, Shelby, NC.
