Vera Lucas

Mrs. Lucas, 74, of 107 Lucas Lane, Mooresboro passed away Wednesday at her home. She had been an executive secretary for Martin-Boyle-Anthony & Johnson Architects. She was also the owner of Lucas Grocery in Mooresboro in the 1970's. She raised her children at Sandy Run Baptist Church and had joined Aldersgate Methodist Church after moving to Shelby. She supported her husband's military career for 20 years and made wonderful, life-long friends throughout the United States.
Mrs. Lucas was preceeded in death by her parents James N. Hill & Marguerite H. Hill and her husband Robert P. Lucas.
Mrs. Lucas is survived by two sons Bob Lucas and wife Katy of Gastonia, and Frank Lucas & wife Susan of Mooresboro, a daughter Mary Bowen Braswell & husband Vince of Shelby. Her grandchildren are Caitlyn Lucas, Randall Bowen, Mark Bowen Catherine Bowen, Matt Lucas & fiance Britney, and Emily Lucas.
Mrs. Lucas is also survived by three brothers; Noel, Howard, and Hamilton Hill of Alabama.
