Vernell Mode

Mrs. Mode, 91, a resident of Peak Resourses of Shelby passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Peak Resourses. A native of Cleveland County, NC, she was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and had taught the Beginner's Sunday School Class, worked at Ora Mill Company for 16 years and retired from the Coffee Shop at Cleveland Regonal Medical Center. Mrs. Mode was preceeded in death by her parents Abi H. Padgett & Florence Ellis Padgett, her husband Gordon R. Mode and 12 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Mode is survived by three daughters; Barbara Mode of Shelby, Joy Hoyle and husband Robert of Shelby, Wanda McManus and husband Paul of Boiling Springs, NC. In addition to these she is also survived by a grandson Robert Hoyle Jr., granddaughters; Jeanna Anthony & husband Dr. Stephen Anthony, Jill Urwick & husband Lee, Jan Thomas & husband Adam, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jimmy Black & Dr. Stephen Anthony. Memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Building Fund, 123 Beaver Dam Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
