Walter Ledford

Mr. Ledford, 79, of 1749 New House Rd., Shelby, NC passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ledford was retired from Burns & Spangler as a heavy equipment mechanic, member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Ledford is preceeded in death by his parents Columbus & Macie Swink Ledford. Survivors are a daughter Sandy Gilleland, sons; Steve Ledford & Scott Ledford all of Shelby, three brothers; Roger Ledford, Arthur Ledford & Andy Ledford all of Lawndale, NC, a sister Gladys Self of Lawndale, NC and a ex wife Betty Crotts Ledford of New House, NC. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Garin Hill pastor of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 2112 New House Road, Shelby, NC 28150
