Wayne Brooks

Mr. Brooks, a native of Cleveland County, NC was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Librarian and as a member of the Church Historical Committee. He graduated from Lattimore High School, attended Gardner-Webb University, and graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS Degree in Business. He taught Sixth Grade, Special Education and Business in the North Carolina Public Schools. He worked for the N.C. Department of Transportation, completing 30 years of service to the state of North Carolina. He was an avid reader.
Mr. Brooks father was the late Flay Brooks.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his mother; Margaret Mauney Brooks of Shelby, his wife Joanne Cox Brooks of the home, a sister and her husband; Betty Humphries and Charles of Forest City, NC. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
