Wayne Hamrick

A native of Cleveland County, Mr. Hamrick worked for 28 years at Complete Auto Parts and retired from Napa Auto Parts. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where he served on numerous boards and committees. He served two terms on the Cleveland County Board of Education. Having been a member of the Shelby Optimist Club for 41 years, he developed a sense of enjoyment in working with and for others. He served in many positions in the Shelby Optimist Club. A member of the Optimist District of North Carolina, he served as secretary-treasurer, committee chairman, Lieutenant Govenor and Governor. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edwin "Dick"Hamrick and Etta Mae Queen Hamrick Hamilton. He is survived by his wife, Judy Ann Campbell Hamrick of the home; daughters, Lynn H. Hamrick & husband, Mark of Shelby; son, Rick Hamrick of Clover, SC.
