Wiley Hamrick

January 16, 1924 — March 30, 2012

Mr. Wiley C. Hamrick, 88, passed away at Hospice House of Kings Mountain  on March 30, 2012.  A native of Cleveland County, he was son of the late Dewitt Hamrick, Sr. and Bunah Hawkins Hamrick.  He was also preceded  In death by his wife, Vada Reynolds Hamrick and a brother, Marion Hamrick & his wife Edith;brother-in-law Bobby Reynolds and sister-in-law Betty Hamrick.



Mr. Hamrick  retired from Yellow Freight and loved cutting grass and gardening. He was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.  A WWII Army veteran, he received two purple hearts, a bronze star with two oak leaf clusters and several other awards.



He is survived by two sons, Dennis Hamrick and wife, Kathryn and Michael Hamrick and wife, Abby of Shelby; brother, Dewitt Hamrick, Jr. of Shelby; grandchildren, Gregory Hamrick & wife Paula, Yonna Acuff & husband Richard, Christopher Hamrick & Tammy Allison, Russell Hamrick & wife Anna; great grandchildren, Garett Acuff, Jeter Hamrick, Cassie, Zeke & Crawford Hamrick, Marissa Hamrick, Casey & Chris Hopper; brothers-in-law L. D. Reynolds & wife Mildred, Billy Reynolds & wife Martha, Charles Reynolds & wife Betty Ann and Gary Reynolds; sisters-in-law Mavis Walker & Betty Reynolds and many nieces & nephews.



The family would like to express their appreciation to the Hospice of Cleveland County staff, especially Dr. Potts & nurse Heather Willis & Debbie Hoyle and his special caregivers Ashley Wall, Linda Gallaway, Sandra Davis & Melissa Porter.
