Mr. William Daniel Dycus, Sr., age 64 of Grover, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Dr. Rit Varriale and Rev. Clinton Padgett. A visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, January 17, 2015 and also 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday at Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. A procession will follow to the cemetery for burial at Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Griffith Dycus of the home, four children: William Dycus, Jr. and wife Lindsey of Shelby, NC, Eric Dycus and wife Rebecca of Lacey, WA, Michelle Marler of Grover, NC, and Monica King and husband Aaron of Concord, NC, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and cousins.
Born May, 21, 1950 in Shelby, NC, Mr. Dycus was the son of the late Tom Hord and Winnie Sue Bess Dycus and was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Dycus and Richard Dycus. William was known by his immediate family as "Pops". He was an avid Nascar fan and football fan. Life was comical and loved to joke around with those that knew him. Pop loved life.
Pallbearers will be: Tim Brown, Don Tipton, Ben Loop, David Deal, Rusty Dotson, and Aaron King, and Dillon Dycus will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
