William Hughes

Mr. Hughes, 85 of 116 Pine Street, Shelby, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his home, Mr. Hughes was born in Cleveland County, NC, was a retired tixtile worker as a fixer, and served in the U. S. Army during WW II. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents Will Hughes and Ethel Barrett Hughes, and his wife Earline Watts Hughes, four brothers, and two sisters. Mr. Hughes is survived by two sons; Billy Hughes and wife Cindy, Marc Hughes both of Shelby, and a daughter Jean Peeler and husband Hugh also of Shelby. Mr. Hughes has grandchildren Brian Hughes and wife Kristen, and Pamela Weaver, one great grandchild Brasley Weaver, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Regionald Dawkins. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Wendover or Second Baptist Church.
