William Roberson

William (Billy) Hanes Roberson of 414 West Circle Drive in Shelby, NC passed away June 13th, 2016 in a tragic car accident. Born in Charlotte on November 21, 1982, Billy was preceded in death by his Father, Milton Hanes and Mother, Ruby Roberson. Billy was raised by the late James and Ruth Hollifield, and Olene Hawkins of Patterson Springs, NC.
He is survived by his grandparents William (Bill) and Audrey Roberson of Raleigh, uncle John Roberson and wife Amy, aunt Amelia Bennett and husband Steve, aunt Nancy Roberson, nephew Jacob, and nieces Emily and Hannah. Family friend, Joy Long, is to thank for Billy's service and final arrangements. He is also survived by his soulmate, Olivia Cook, his dog, Nina, and a host of friends and coworkers that loved him dearly. His infectious laughter will be missed by all that knew him. Billy was the chef at Newgrass Brewing Company in Shelby and loved his job and coworkers. He so very loved music and appreciated almost all genres. He loved art and enjoyed painting. He was an avid poet and enjoyed writing and reading poetry.
The casual graveside service will be held at Patterson Springs Baptist Church, 2107 Cleveland Avenue Grover, NC 28073 at 10 AM Saturday June 18, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland County Humane Society. Billy's love for dogs was evident. He always had a rescue dog that he was caring for. We trust Billy is walking Louie or Miles along a river somewhere. "Listen to the river sing sweet songs and rock my soul."
