William Rutzen

William Val Rutzen, age 63 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 31, 2022.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Dee Garcia Rutzen of the home, three children, Matthew James Rutzen of Shelby, NC, Sarah Marie Rutzen Christopherson and husband Jonathan of Boiling Springs, SC, and Briana Janel Rutzen of Shelby, NC, three grandchildren, Vala Light Christopherson, Clarity Wisdom Christopherson, and Sunri Strength Christopherson, a brother, Russ Rutzen of El Paso, TX, and a sister, Lorrie Rutzen Daniel of Dallas, TX.

Born December 3, 1958 in El Paso, TX, William Val was the son of John Rutzen and Mildred McAdams Walsh.  William Val was a loving, hardworking, husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.  William Val loved music and was a great guitarist.  William Val will be dearly missed by those that knew him.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Encounter Church, 1905 N Limestone St, Gaffney, SC 29340 conducted by Dr. Steven Francis.
