Willie Mellon

Mr. Mellon, 86, of Shelby, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Hospice at Wendover. Mr. Mellon was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church, and retired from Costner's Amoco as a mechanic. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Potts, Kat Spangler and the entire Hospice staff at Wendover as well as Dr. Coalson, Emily & Holly of Shelby Medical Associates, and the staff at Peak Resourses for their excellent care given Mr. Mellon. Mr. Mellon is preceded in death by his mother Mamie Mellon, and his wife Ruth Mellon. Mr. Mellon is survived by a daughter and her husband Terry M. Dixon and Don of Shelby, a grandson Jeff Dixon of Charlotte, NC, very special in-laws Ralph Mellon and wife Doris, Verl Cash all of Shelby, Dot Hunt and husband Clyde of morganton, NC, and a cousin Willie Mae Camp of Kings Mountain, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews. In sddition to these he is also survived by two special friends Ralph Sain and Everette Redmon. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Tripp Spangler and Dr. Bulo Price.
