James Herman Parrish, "River Rat", age 70, of Farmville, Virginia, formerly of Chula, Virginia, and Charleston, West Virginia, passed from this life on January 18, 2012. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Herman Parrish and Cada Renick Parrish. He is survived by his son, James Robert Parrish, and daughter, Libby Ballinger, both of Jetersville, two grandchildren, Janet Marie Rogers and Isabelle Hope Wilson, and his brother Byron Russell Parrish and wife Joan, of Ashburn, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia, Virginia, with burial in the Westview Cemetery in Farmville, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
